Sharon has gone interactive by joining the many of thousands of people signed up to Facebook.

Last week Sharon launched her new Facebook account providing an online space to document her work both in the UK and Brussels. In just over a week Sharon has got more than three hundred friends many from her constituency in the South East.

Sharon said:

"I am aware that more and more people are using Facebook as a means of communication. It thus seems like an excellent way to stay more in touch with my constituents and keep them updated on my activities in the European Parliament and in the constituency."

"I hope that this will allow more people to find out what I do and provide some people with a method of communication that they are more comfortable with."

"If you're interested in what goes on in Europe, what I've been up to in the South East or you just want to learn more about politics then I'd invite you to add me as your friend!"

"I hadn't used Facebook before but I've very quickly learnt to love it!"
