Sharon introduces Chris Huhne MP at the meeting in Brussels.

Sharon Bowles Liberal Democrat MEP for the South East today met with her Lib Dem predecessor Chris Huhne (now MP for Eastleigh) today when he came to the European Parliament to speak to Members of the European Parliament and local party members.

Sharon Bowles said "When I started back in May I knew taking over from Chris would mean stepping into a giant pair of shoes. He is quite rightly recognised as an exceptional economist, politician and local campaigner."

"Today he covered a range of subjects from civil liberties to the future of the European Union. His 25 year experience in the party gives him an invaluable knowledge of policy, indeed the liberal democrat review of public services policy which he chaired is still the foundation we work from. But he has a real practical edge which comes from his career as a businessman. Also as a former journalist he manages to explain complicated issues in a digestible way. If I could vote for him twenty times over I would."
