SHARON BOWLES BACKS CHRIS HUHNE IN LIB DEM LEADERSHIP CONTEST12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Fri 13th Jan 2006 Today Sharon Bowles, Liberal Democrat MEP for the South East gave Chris Huhne her full support as he declared his intention to run for leadership of the Liberal Democrat party. Sharon Bowles said "Chris has already proven himself the most worthy of elected members. Having worked at the forefront of the party as an MEP, chairman of a major policy committee and now in the shadow cabinet, he is a confident and strong candidate." "An active campaigner, he is popular and well respected by all, from the grassroots activists to ministers in Government."
